It’s so emotional! D: Poor Tephra, it would be so hard for her to understand…this reminds me of something my religion professor (who is also a bishop, so he does a lot of counseling) said a few weeks ago about how a bad/abusive father can create a huge obstacle specifically for women. Many hear all their lives that God is their Father, but the only mortal father they know evokes trauma and that can be spiritually crippling.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Vahaadi could offer any real help here, only empathy. He also had a misguided father and he also looks to lovers for security instead of parents. The best he could do is tell her that he knows how she feels. Although, he probably gives really good hugs?

aww, I’m sure he does give good hugs. But Spark would be TOO jealous if she knew Vahaadi were hugging Tephra.

“FIRST, you’re playing TENNIS with FLINT. NOW you’re HUGGING TEPHRA?!?!

I THOUGHT WHAT WE HAD WAS SPECIAL.”

I forgot about that! Geez that was the worst miscommunication ever. It was so blundered in so many ways Spark actually might find it funny. Although I won’t tell her because after she died laughing at how horribly everything went down she’d be really discouraged to find that out. The problem with being possessive.

Haha, well if it’s any consolation to her (and I’m not sure it could be, since we’re not going to tell her) that depiction of Vahaadi was when he was like 25 and psycho at the height of his crime career. Any version of Vahaadi she’s interacted has been his older, mellower, less creepy self. Well, excepting the instances she’s interacted with young Vahaadi. But he was practically nothing but hormonal angst so that’s HARDLY a fair basis of judgment. XD

I think she’d be fine with that then. Because that would mean given the time frame she was only seven, and she wouldn’t care who he was kissing when she was seven. XD

WHAT! XD By that logic Opal would also be a lot younger. Our headcanon timelines are all screwed up. XD And the best part is? I don’t even care.

It’s a little funny that since we aged Spark down for Loose Canon, Vahaadi is now solidly twice her age (even with several hundreds of years of immortality set aside)

  7. Evie

True, he is twice her age. But because of his newness to her world he sometimes acts very childlike, and because of the seriousness of world saving, she sometimes acts a bit older. I think it works!
