This is definitely not one of the best pieces I’ve done, but I wanted to show the feelings that Spark has when she looks are Vahaadi are similar to the feelings Jim has when he looks at Silver. This feeling of “I could never have guessed you were what was missing in my life, but now that you’re here I never want you to leave and I will be forever different because you spent this time with me. You are the most incredible person I know.”
Lyrics from “I’m Still Here” by Johnny Rzeznik from “Treasure Planet.”
They can’t tell me who to be,
‘Cause I’m not what they see.
Yeah, the world is still sleepin’,
While I keep on dreamin’ for me.
And their words are just whispers
And lies that I’ll never believe.
And I want a moment to be real,
Wanna touch things I don’t feel,
Wanna hold on and feel I belong.
And how can they say I never change?
They’re the ones that stay the same.
I’m the one now,
‘Cause I’m still here.
And you see the things they never see
All you wanted, I could be
Now you know me, and I’m not afraid
And I wanna tell you who I am
Can you help me be a man?
They can’t break me
As long as I know who I am

OK, you say this is not one of your best pieces but I like it so much. The lyrics fit perfectly, and I love your words, “I could never have guessed you were what was missing in my life, but now that you’re here I never want you to leave and I will be forever different because you spent this time with me. You are the most incredible person I know.” Vahaadi can say the exact same things of Spark. He’s spent most of his life thinking he needs some rugged, down-to-earth guy to fill the cracks in his heart and instead here’s this quirky teenage girl and she’s exactly what he needs. SO. MUCH. LOVE. The last verse suits Vahaadi better than it does Spark, (ugghhh I love the emotion in this so bad)
“And you see the things they never see
All you wanted, I could be
Now you know me, and I’m not afraid
And I wanna tell you who I am
Can you help me be a man?
They can’t break me
As long as I know who I am”
Nobody ever looks at Vahaadi and thinks that he can be good. But Spark believes him so fiercely that she makes him start to believe he can be good too. “All you wanted, I could be.” Especially after the Secrets revelation, she’s willing to help him “be a man” like no one else is willing to.
