The Cost of Love

After reading your epilogue (or continuation, as the case may be) for the Secrets scenario, I was haunted by the implications of Spark’s decision to stay with Vahaadi. It’s true that Vahaadi couldn’t live long in the lush, mild environment of Lunarious–but would Spark fair any better in the wastes of the Azaharian desert?

While I was mulling the idea over, an unexpected voice came into my mind with a potential solution…and a serious price.

Kala holds up a rounded vial. A glowing fluid swirls inside, casting reflections into her sober eyes.

“If you really want to stay with Vahaadi, you may need this,” she says, meeting Spark’s gaze steadily. “It will transform you into a djinni. It may be the only way you’ll survive the harshness of the desert.

But, Spark…

if you drink this, you’ll lose your powers.”

Secrets Epilogue

Previously when trying to figure out how the RPishthing Secrets would end we discussed that Vahaadi could go back to Lunarious with Spark. That resulted in riduclous but endearing pictures like this.

But the problem with that is once Vahaadi has recovered, he’s starting to live a healthy, fulfilled lifestyle, then what? Eventually people leave rehab. Where do they go? How do they start again? Would Vahaadi live in Luanrious forever? Highly unlikely, as it’s not suited for djinn at all. Then what is left for him? To return to his world, only to miss even MORE friends and feel lonelier than ever? This is not a good set up for Vahaadi, no matter how much he learned while he was in Lunarious.

“I can fix it!”

CallyAnn sent me a text asking if Flint would spend some time with Vahaadi because he was feeling lonely. The two of them did go play tennis but in the meantime Spark took things into her own hands. She has a very difficult time understanding why someone like Vahaadi would ever feel lonely; to her perfect people shouldn’t feel something so bad/sad. Ironically, it is for this reason she is in denial about her own loneliness as well. She thinks “Well, but I’m awesome, so I don’t need anyone else, right? …So I can’t feel lonely, that can’t be what this is…” I labeled this as “Role Play” since it doesn’t really take place anywhere except my head and in our texts…
