I actually really like it! Ironically I feel like Rapunzel’s looks too streaked? Only because in the movie her hair is very soft and down like, not strandy. But I think Spark probably has a little static electricity running through her hair to make the strands stand apart and aglow like this. Very cool! <3
SPARK APPROVES THAT SHE IS THE CURE FOR BEING BURNED OUT/CRANKY. ((Unfortunately for her when I get burned out and cranky she is the last person I want to draw XD I always feel like drawing something sweet and happy like Dora or fairies or something not zany Spark. I'm glad she helps be a pick me up for you!))
Well, I just liked Rapunzel’s hair because you can tell it’s special compared to Flynn’s. It looks like it has more depth and body. Spark’s hair is her most prominent feature so I wanted to try this style on for size! I think my favorite part is the single wispy hairs. I tried to use that on Spark, too. I mean, it’s easier to draw Spark’s hair as one big swoopy chunk, but a lot more fun to give it weight and flow! But it does make her look like one of those dolls that have strands of tinsel mixed in with their hair…
This coloring style also makes her hair look kinda greasy or something. Hm. :/
Haha! Maybe just because she’s so fun and different from all of my characters. Also, she doesn’t live in my brain. XD so, there’s some novelty there. Spark might not be Vahaadi’s first choice of company when he’s cranky, either…but don’t tell her I said that. She IS his go-to when he’s bored, though! And, like me, he would like to play with her hair. But not coloring it. Physically playing/stroking/petting it. He has a thing for hair so bad. I drew him grumping about brushing her hair in that one scenario but he’d quickly come to like the excuse to brush her hair out.
Spark does very well around grumpy people, but around cranky people… she can be grating. OR, unfortunately, she’s easily influenced and suddenly SHE feels cranky too. It can go either way depending on the context.
HAHAH As much as she’d hate sitting still for him to brush it, she’d like being waited on/feeling special, so she’d endure it XD.
Maybe it’s their “Spark got a new comic book” ritual. She reads to him (with her best voices and gesticulations) and he gets to brush her hair…at least until it gets too exciting and she jerks suddenly and pulls her own hair. XD
