Evie: Spark! Come here! We’re going to talk about you.
Spark: Great! I love talking about me!
Evie: I know. Sit down.
Spark: Don’t tell me to sit down! How dare you! You just said that out of habit from being a teacher. *sticks out tongue*
Evie: *facepalm* You’re right. Sorry. Don’t sit down. Pace, dance, hover, do whatever you gotta do. BUT FOCUS.

1. People don’t behave the same way all the time. In fact, they generally have a mask for every social group — friends, family, business. Sometimes they have a different mask for different groups of friends. How does your character act around different people? How does their personality shift and change?
Spark generally conducts herself in a manner of two ways: infatuated and delighted or restless and mischievous (perhaps even menacing, though when she is made aware of how her actions are affecting others she will stop.) Generally she is VERY OBLIVIOUS of herself and how her actions come across to others. This is true for Krissy as well. For this reason, she doesn’t wear a lot of masks, so to speak. Krissy manages to find more middle ground emotions than Spark, but she doesn’t put on certain personas for different people. She tends to be a little more aloof and laidback with her friends from school, more childlike and innocent around her parents, and more dangerous and enthusiastic around Vahaadi, but those could all change depending on the circumstance.
2. Your character has been brought to a party and promptly ditched. They don’t have a ride back home. How does this work? How comfortable are they around all of these strangers? Do they interact?
Spark: Woah, woah, woah, I get DITCHED– PROMPTLY DITCHED!? Who ditched me!?!?!?!?!?
Evie: Uh, Kyle? Your Dad?
Spark: Well that’s bogus. Supposing this means I can’t use my powers, because then I could just FLY home, I guess I raid the fridge. Dunno. I CAN’T BELIEVE I GOT DITCHED, WHO WOULD DO THAT TO ME, I MEAN COME ON.
Evie: Relax. It’s a generic question. I don’t think anyone would really ditch you. 0_0
3. It’s kind of awkward – what subjects are likely to make your character hesitate, flush, stumble on their words, etc.?
I have learned from Vahaadi that any talk of her awkwardness or lack of social skills gets her flustered pretty quick. She knows she doesn’t have a lot of friends and doesn’t fit into social norms well and generally justifies it by saying “I’m just so cool people can’t handle it,” but when she’s forced to admit that it’s because she’s simply difficult then she sputters around and just sort of deflates. Also anytime Spark is forced to talk about her deeper feelings, or possibly goodbyes, she gets uncomfortable and fumbles for any sort of distraction but it’s usually so lame even she realizes that it is. And anytime Vahaadi suggests that Kyle has a crush on Krissy she gets really red and annoyed and just gets REALLY LOUD LIKE SHE DIDN’T HEAR THAT. Any talk of romance annoys her, but especially when it’s personal.
4. Is your character more dominant or submissive to the people around them? Do they tend to follow others’ orders and wait for people to give them instruction in life, or do they charge ahead and make decisions on their own?
This is a tricky question. Spark’s general personality is of course dominant and she definitely tries to take charge. Due to her age and the limitations that come with it, however, a lot of her decisions are overruled, both in her life in Lunarious and in Loose Canon. Spark likes being babied but she also hates the fact it then means people get to make decisions without her.
5. What happens when your character doesn’t get what they want?
Spark: I ALWAYS get what I want.
Evie: No you don’t >.O
Spark: Well, I should. I usually do anyway. It’s amazing what being cute can do for you.
She is also very, very persistent, so she generally does get what she wants. When she doesn’t she either longs for it dreamily or schemes until she can figure out how to obtain it. It all depends on whether what she wants is an actual possibility or an extravagant daydream.
6. What’s the character’s self-esteem like?
It’s pretty good, Yo. At least, Krissy/Spark’s is. Loose Canon Spark pretty much feels on top of the world. Pre-powers Krissy is a bit more vulnerable from having moved to a new city and not seeing her dad much and attending a much more rigorous school. Once she has Vahaadi in her life and her superpowers she loses almost all her insecurities– the only remaining one being that she knows she’s still really bad with people; has no friends.
Triumph Trod Spark is a little different. She started off as egotistical and carefree as LC Spark is at age fifteen but the condition of Lunarious took its toll on her, like it did everyone. After the war, however, Flint and Opal found ways to use their powers for good, and both lead fulfilling lives. They have a community and a makeshift family and a purpose. But Spark hasn’t fared nearly as well. Between feeling trapped in a place with too many rules, too little technology and missing her parents she’s pretty uncomfortable. She also misses Vahaadi madly since having made a friendship with him and feels even lonelier now that Van is in a relationship with Armera. Spark sees herself as a burden and a misfit and regrets her decision to drop out of hero school and go to Lunarious. But she knows that life at home wouldn’t be much better, and if she’d stayed she’d never have met Vahaadi, who is her joy in life. She’s still as dreamy and hopeful as ever and spends of lot of her time imagining what life would be like if things were different. In her heart Spark knows that Lord Sunustra and especially Lady Novella are very troubled for her and she feels guilty about their concern. In their presence she tries hard to seem happy and useful, but she knows that they want to help her and just can’t figure out how to help. Spark is still cocky and cheeky, but her self esteem has taken a hit.
a. Does it change over the course of the story? Well her story isn’t over so I hope it does? This is an *in limbo* question, but I know for sure that even in Loose Canon after Krissy uses her third wish her self esteem certainly wavers for a time. She grows up, and part of that requires loosing that ridiculous ego, at least somewhat. With her only-child mindset though it will never disappear completely.
7. What’s one flaw about themselves that they hate the most and wish they could change?
For Krissy that she just doesn’t really like other people. She knows it’s a bad habit, but loses her patience too quickly to really do anything about it. For Spark, it’s her restlessness, her constant hunger for adventure and thrills and excitement that makes her so unreliable as a superhero and friend.
8. How does their personality shift when someone gets to know them well?
She stops trying to annoy/tease them and suddenly lumps them in with her egregious boasting. It’s no longer “I’m so great” it’s “we’re so great!” She makes a lot of eye contact and has a habit of throwing her arm around their shoulders and grins without smirking or rolling her eyes.
9. Do they prefer time alone, or with other people?
It depends. If Krissy can’t be with Vahaadi she’d probably rather be alone, but her parents or Kyle aren’t terrible substitutes. Spark just wants to be with Vahaadi all the time. She hates to admit it, but the only reason she prefers to be alone is because being around the other Protectors can make her feel guilty. She gets lonely a lot.
10. Is it easy for this character to tell someone “no” when they don’t want to do something?
Again, it depends. If it’s Van, no problem, there will be a loud “HECK NO,” yelled flatly in his direction. The same pretty much holds true for anybody that Spark only moderately respects. If it’s someone she respects more, say Novella or her parents, she will have a hard time refusing them but will do it if she must. Krissy doesn’t have a lot of problems telling anyone no except for Elwen and the Lorewalkers since they intimidate her. She will also have a hard time saying no to a person that scares her, but she rarely gets scared.
11. If this character were to describe their own personality, how would they do it?
Spark: “Awesome!” “Explosive!” “Adorable!”
Evie: Pick ONE.
Spark: “Dynamite.”
12. Is this character aware of their flaws?
LC Spark/Krissy: definitely not. TT Spark: Only mildly more aware. She is mostly aware of the fact she seems to irritate and disappoint everyone but lacks a lot of understanding as to why she does. she has a tendency to think the problem lies with everyone else.
13. How has this character’s personality changed from childhood to adulthood?
LC Spark/Krissy has been forced to become more responsible/sacrificial since having powers and joining the Lorewalkers. TT Spark has become more compassionate and slightly more humble. As a child Spark was very selfish, almost sly, but didn’t realize the burden this placed on others. She also rarely sought to help others. As she grew older she began to admire superheroes so much that it changed her outlook on life and she became someone who wanted unshakably to do good no matter the cost.
14. Who influenced this character’s personality? Did they pick up any mannerisms or traits from someone?
Krissy’s dad has had the most influence over her, resulting in her love for sports, her somewhat off the wall vocabulary and her ability to laugh easily. Spark doesn’t really take after anyone, she’s always been an oddball. Van influenced her indirectly, his staunchy personality making her even more determined to be impulsive and reckless. Now that they spend less time together she finds herself acting in those ways to try to fill his absence.
15. Does this character express affection? Are they comfortable doing so?
Yes, with lots and lots and lots and lots of grins and compliments. If she really loves you, lots of kisses and hugs too, sometimes winks. Inside jokes are a huge way of her letting you know she really likes you.
16. When frightened, will the character “fight” or “flight”?
Neither. When Spark is really scared, she goes deer in the headlights.
17. Does this character ever put someone else’s needs in front of their own?
Only for Vahaadi, I have learned. This is true in every incarnation of her character.
a. If there are only rare exceptions, why is that the case? Occasionally she may have done something generous or costly for someone else, but if she did it’s only because they managed to do what Vahaadi has accomplished so well: touched her heart to the point that she loves them so much it would hurt more not to put their needs before hers than to do so.
18. If this character suffered amnesia and lost all their memories, what would they be like?
I have honestly never thought about this scenario.
Evie: What would you be like?
Spark: You’re the writer! Give me amnesia and see how I turn out~!
Evie: @_@ okay…
She would still have the same sense of humor and would still be quick to laugh, but would have a more sober demeanor and would be more conscious of others. The crazy ego would disappear and the feeling of restlessness would manifest in a constant effort to try to find out who she was and where she came from and why she has these powers. She’d be more likely to turn into a detective than a superhero and would worry more about accidentally causing damage or harm with her powers.
19. How does the character’s living space reflect their personality?
Krissy’s room reflects her personality and interests from floor to ceiling. Unfortunately there is little order and no restraint to her decor. Spark’s room in Lunarious is depressingly bare and reflects almost none of her personality, but she rarely spends time there anyway except to sleep and it isn’t really anyone’s fault since she sneaked onto the ship to get there and didn’t pack any of her belongings.
20. What’s one thing that other characters wish they could change about this character’s personality?
INCREASED SELF AWARENESS.
Spark: I’m not THAT bad!
Evie: >.> I rest my case.
EMOTIONAL PROFILE
1. How easy is it for your character to feel anger? What’s usually a good tip off that they’re experiencing it? (Physical reactions, movements of appendages, etc.)
Spark is actually fairly difficult to anger because she finds so many aggravating things funny. But when she does get angry, you’ll know. She yells, insults, throws fireballs, the usual stuff. When she is the absolute angriest she resorts to threats as well and starts shaking. Her voice gets low and really tight and she clenches her fists because she is fighting the urge to strangle you.
a. Sadness? She fights this emotion, but feels sadness more often than she’d like to feel it. She doesn’t cry too much when she’s sad, she just gets melancholy. Spark never remains sad for long; sadness leads into restlessness very quickly and she’s become adept at doing practically anything to distract herself from feeling sad. She cries the most when she is angry and gets weepy when she is hungry and tired, more like a child.
b. Happiness? Spark is always happy when Vahaadi is around, when the sun is out, or when she’s free to be herself. She almost never walks when she’s happy, but floats everywhere and her hair is very, very long. Krissy is also often happy but has a tendency to be a bit more irritable/sarcastic than TT Spark, if only because she’s still forced to go to school and do homework.
c. Fear? Given her ego, Krissy/Spark is rarely frightened, but when she is she panics and can’t think. Her bravado keeps her from running away but her fear keeps her from fighting and she just sort of flails. TT Spark isn’t much different, though when she is very scared she will sometimes fire off her powers unintentionally. She isn’t attempting to fight, she’s just losing the mental control she usually maintains over her abilities. I think this response is derived from being an only child; in the back of her mind she figures if she just stays in one place long enough someone will save her/intervene before things get really bad because no one would willingly let anything happen to her.
2. What state of mind is the character usually in?
Wistful. Krissy is almost always feeling this way until she gets her powers, and after that she retains the habit of constantly dreaming about a place she hasn’t seen or been to yet. TT Spark spends most of her time feeling this way too. Imagining possibilities has proved more exciting than actually going places. This is one reason why she adores Vahaadi so much– he’s been able to make a lot of her dreams just as daring and incredible as she hoped they would be. Most everything else, if it happens at all, is usually a let down.
3. Are there any emotions the character is particularly afraid of, or really resents having to feel?
Disappointment. Spark just can’t cope with disappointment. Unfortunately it’s bound to happen to her rather regularly because she always sets her expectations too high.
4. How easily does this character trust their feelings with others? She’s very opinionated so for the sake of expressing her opinions she’s pretty open with others.
a. Has anyone ever betrayed them? Not truly. Spark often feels betrayed if someone abandons her in order to spend time with someone/something else, but she recovers.
b. How did it affect their ability to trust? I suppose TT Spark feels betrayed by how her career as a superheroine has turned out. Much like a millennial realizing their can’t use the degree for which they studied, Spark often feels her powers and training are only hindrances towards what would otherwise be a happy reality for her. I think her disillusionment has caused her to be a little wary to trust. Krissy feels much the same, until she meets Vahaadi and gets her powers, because of how hard it has been for her adjusting to a new city and new school/classmates.
5. Can this character easily hide their emotions? Not unless she has a role to perform/act. Without a mask to hide behind, her heart is on her sleeve.
a. Do they find it difficult to express emotion, thus tend to look neutral? Ha. No.
6. How well can this character resist their emotions and impulses? Not well at all unless the consequences are pretty severe. Even then, it’s a struggle. Spark basically lives to fulfill her emotions and impulses, providing no one gets hurt, of course. Krissy does mildly better, but only because she is worried about displeasing school officials. At home, all bets are off; she knows her parents are slack with discipline.
7. Does this character ever get violent (with others, objects, themselves) when feeling any certain emotions?
Yes, primarily when she feels confused. When she is angry she actually does turn more to words or threats than violence, the same goes for when she’s sad. But when she’s confused, everything inside her feels like it’s exploding, so that often translates externally as well. Krissy does the same thing, but I would replace the word ‘violent’ with ‘drastic.’ She might not punch someone (although occasionally she will) but she’ll yell, or take off running without looking back, etc.
8. Has this character contemplated suicide? @_@ Never.
a. Self-harm? No, that kind of thinking wouldn’t occur to her. You have to understand, Spark/Krissy NEVER views herself as the primary source of a problem and often considers herself the victim. She has the utmost concern for herself and wouldn’t think to hurt her own body out of negative emotions. She has been known to hurt herself, but only out of curiosity about how quickly her healing powers react, not in any desire to inflict actual harm.
b. Physically injuring others? Yes, though unintentionally. As Spark she endeavors to never, ever hurt someone due to her superhero creed. Krissy has a little more wiggle room and has wounded a bully on purpose.
c. Killing others? No.
9. Does the character have any triggers? Why do these things trigger them?
Not really sure what this question mean, but I guess it’s intentionally vague. Spark fears abandonment. If she feels like she is at risk of losing someone or something she will become a bit frantic and illogical as well as clingy. I’m not totally sure where this feeling comes from except that for a long time now her relationship with Vahaadi has been the most precious thing she has and yet he’s always been out of her reach in some way or another. She has nightmares sometimes he’s forgotten her or will never be able to come back to her world and it terrifies her. Krissy shares this fear once she is the owner of the lamp, knowing that it’s possible for someone else to become Vahaadi’s master. Krissy also fears the death of her parents, and becomes extremely distraught if either of her parents are sick, no matter if it’s something serious or only a common cold.
10. What would hurt this character so badly they couldn’t even breathe?
Withholding food for any extended period of time. The hunger drives her crazy and becomes painful as she looses strength; when her blood sugar levels get too low, she loses her healing powers, so she feels every sensation of her body shutting down.
11. What is guaranteed to make this character smile?
Hearing Vahaadi’s name. Even when he’s not around, just bringing him to mind makes her grin.
12. If the character could remove one emotion from their life, which would they choose?
Restlessness. Spark has trouble enjoying anything in the present, much less after it is over. She is always feeling like the next best thing is just around the corner, only to find out it wasn’t as great as she imagined. Her over active imagination leaves her disappointed with reality constantly, and therefore always striving for more.
13. If they’re feeling upset, who are they likely to talk to for comfort? Or do they keep it inside?
Spark/Krissy will talk to Vahaadi or Kyle, sometimes her dad. Occasionally her mom or Emilee. TT Spark will only talk to Vahaadi or rarely Evie.
14. How would this character cope with losing someone extremely close to them?
She basically wouldn’t. She wavers between denial and anger and never gets past those two stages of grief. Eventually I suppose she would just try to ignore her feelings and would force herself never to think of that person again because she can’t handle the pain. Krissy makes greater strides towards healing in Loose Canon, but it takes a long time and is only possible because the loss wasn’t a surprise and was her/Vahaadi’s choice.
15. How does this character look and feel when crying?
Angry and frustrated. She clenches her fists and sets her jaw and just keeps shaking her head back and forth. Her hair whips about her face, but the stinging feeling suits her mood. She is scary looking and yet obviously helpless. She doesn’t cry hardly ever when she is sad.
16. If the character had to live out the rest of their life either perpetually angry, sad, or frightened, which would they choose?
Probably sad. She doesn’t like being sad, but it forces her to slow down a little, which is something she needs in her life. Being angry would be the worst, most destructive state for her and if she had to be frightened forever she may as well be chronologically frozen.
17. Does this character tend to blame or punish others for their own emotions?
It depends. Because she never sees herself as the cause of problems, she will tend to blame others if it suits her, but once she likes a person she gets that ‘we’ complex and can’t bring herself to blame them either. She’d rather blame fate and say that bad things just happened “because” rather than because of a certain individual.
18. Is this character empathetic, and tends to be influenced by the emotions of others?
If it’s someone she disrespects, hardly. But if it’s an innocent bystander, a child, or a person for whom she cares she is strongly influenced by how they feel.
19. What is the strongest emotion they have felt? Attachment.
a. What event caused that? Befriending Vahaadi.
b. How would they react if that happened again? Spark says she will “never find another friend like Vahaadi, so this is a moot question.”
20. If the character were to come face to face with their darkest fears in a nightmare, what would be the scene?
Vahaadi approaching her with indifference as though she were a stranger, then refusing to ever see her again. It would shatter her. She used to think her worst nightmare would be to lose her powers, but it scares her more to think of losing his friendship than losing her powers. Krissy’s worst nightmare is that both her parents die and even with all her powers she is unable to save them. The regret and loss would never leave her.
PHYSICAL PROFILE
1. Based on the current diet and exercise your character has, where do you see them physically in five years? Much the same. She does have a super metabolism and is in the prime of her youth after all.
2. How agile is this character? Can they dodge easily? Or are they clumsy? She is extremely agile, especially in flight, though even grounded she has the skills of a contortionist.
3. Describe the muscle content of your character. Are they untrained and soft? Or lithe and powerful?
Lithe and a little wiry. She’s got enough muscle to give her some curves, like her biceps and calf muscles, but she’s mostly a beanpole.
4. What kind of body fat percentage do you suppose they have? The most minimal amount you can have and still be in full health.
5. Do they have any scars? Where did those scars come from, and how did they get them?
Due to her healing powers, she doesn’t, though she kinda regrets this. She thinks scars are cool.
6. Describe some hairstyles your character has had in the past. Krissy used to have a bob in middle school because she couldn’t be bothered to fuss with her hair, even though secretly she always wanted long hair. Now as Spark she can have her dream hair. TT Spark used to have a ponytail as short as Krissy’s but upon arriving at Lunarious it grew to the length it is now.
a. How about the present? What’s their hair like now? It looks like “Lady Lovely Locks” hair, but brown with red highlights and in a high ponytail. It changes in volume depending on her mood. Annoyed, scared or sad: flatter and shorter. Excited, happy: full, bouncy Angry, surprised, confused: Static-y and unwieldy.
7. What are their teeth like? Any cavities? Root canals? Does their dentition ever hurt? She has very white teeth that are very prominent without being oversized. All her teeth end at the same length.
8. Do their arches ever fall? That’s painful. Still don’t know what this means. I will say I don’t think so.
9. How much endurance do they have? Do they easily get tired during a workout? She has great endurance unless she is sleepy. Like most teenagers, she needs more sleep than she usually allows herself.
10. How easily can they bear pain? perfectly well, given she’s well fed. If she’s hungry, very little.
11. How long can this character sit still? HA. Sit still. SIT. Please.
Krissy will sit in class, but even then she always has to be tapping her foot or pencil and she dashes up as soon as class is over.
a. Do they shift a lot when sleeping? Yes, she is all over. She likes rolling in the sheets because it feels nice, but she also twitches a lot in her sleep and sometimes dances in her sleep too, little shoulder moves and head bobs. Sometimes she murmurs and giggles and scoffs in her sleep too.
12. What do their nails look like? Do they bite them? They look short, because she doesn’t have time to devote to making long nails look nice, not to mention they get in the way of playing sports and clenching her fist when making a certain type of spark. She doesn’t bite them, she thinks that’s bizarre. ((“Why put something in your mouth that isn’t food when you could just be EATING?”))
13. How hairy is this character? Average? Except for her head when she is Spark, obviously.
14. What is the most imperfect part of this character’s body? Her thin lips and wide mouth. It often makes her look comical without even trying.
15. Do they get cold easily? No. Despite her low body fat, her energetic metabolism keeps her warm.
a. How about overheated? Rarely? I think part of her superhealing is regulating her temperature.
b. Seasick? She flies, so no.
c. Do barometric changes in pressure affect them? She gets a little dizzy at high altitudes, but we’d have to be talking HIGH altitudes, given that she flies.
16. How do they react to getting an illness? Think about sore throats, achy bodies, headaches, stuffy noses, runny noses… She doesn’t? She has superhealing. One reason why she lacks empathy for people who are ill. Krissy inherits those healing abilities once she gets her powers. It makes her fear for her parents and their mortality which is much more vulnerable than hers.
17. Is this character’s body sensitive to touch? Sensitive? No, she just likes it.
a. Do they have any unusual erogenous zones? I think it’s safe to say we’ll probably never know. Spark says she’d have to google what that word even means, so…
18. How strong are this character’s basic senses? Sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell. Sight, 20/20 but nothing amazing. Hearing, normal, touch, normal, taste– she says “advanced.” smell, normal.
a. What if they could only have one sense, and had to lose the others? Ooh. It’s a toss up between touch and taste. She begrudgingly says “Touchnoooooowaittasteuuuuuuuuughbutthennohugsaaackbutfoooodddddd–” The jury is out.
20. Does this character have any unusual limbs or physical features? She flies and can make explosive sparks from her hands. She has crazy long, weighty hair. And she’s very flat chested, even for a skinny person.
PREFERENCES AND PEEVES
1. What’s the state of your character’s kitchen? What kind of foods do you find in it? Is it… clean? Krissy’s kitchen is clean because her mother cleans it. It’s a collection of highly fattening snack foods (oreos, cheetos, pringles, etc.) Health food bars and organic produce (her mom’s a juicer) and a bunch of barbecue that her dad made over the weekend. Spark eats whatever there is to eat in Lunarious, but isn’t allowed in the kitchen because they don’t trust her.
2. If they could only eat one type of food for the rest of their life, what would they choose? Probably Hot Pockets.
3. What kind of clothing does this character like wearing and why? Spandex! It’s shiny and allows for tons of mobility without wind resistance.
4. How does this character feel about piercings? She likes how they look on other people but would find them too annoying on her own body.
a. Tattoos? I am slowly coming to the conclusion her mask is probably tattooed onto her face in some way or another, either that or it may as well be. She’s not anti-tattoo.
b. Dyed hair? Hers isn’t but she’s not opposed.
c. Revealing clothing? No because Spark is actually a tiny bit embarrassed about her scrawny figure, but she’d NEVER admit to it. Krissy wears some rather short shorts but not anything scandalous.
5. What’s something that turns this character on? Theatrics. It doesn’t turn her on in a sexual way, but it immediately earns her respect, interest and admiration.
a. And what’s a definite turn-off? When someone can’t take a joke.
b. Do they have any kinks? She is generally attracted to the bizarre. Anything out of the ordinary is exciting for her, so long as the explanation of how it came to be is a mystery. If something is scientifically explained to her it kills her interest.
6. How does this character feel about animals? She has never had a pet because no one trusts her to take care of it; because she is very possessive and no animal has ever been hers she has no strong feelings towards them.
a. Would they want any pets? She used to think so, but now she agrees it would really only get in the way. Vahaadi takes care of all her needs to be adored and cuddled.
b. What animals are their favorite? She says Dragons. I said something that exists. She says Falcons.
7. What type of movie is this character most interested in watching?
If she must sit through a movie she can tolerate mystery movies best because she tries to guess the ending the whole way through. She can’t sit through action films because they make her antsy. She wants to MAKE the explosions, not watch them! It’d be like watching a whole film about delicious food and never getting to eat any.
8. If this character could master a skill instantly, which would they choose?
She says archery, but I bet if I ask her tomorrow she’ll say something like holding her breath for ten minutes.
9. Are there any behaviors that other characters do that irk this character?
Spark: ‘Are there any,’ are there ANY, UM YES. I think the better question is what DOESN’T, I mean seriously. The way that Flint always seems slightly confused or the way that Opal can fly but USUALLY walks or the way Armera is always so darn CHILL or just VAN’S FACE or TEPHRA’S FACE or the way Vitiator has such a brilliant sense of irony and wastes it on that woman!
Evie: Spark. You know you have a million irking things that you do too but everyone else has kindly suppressed the urge to actually make a list…
Spark: I bet Van has a list.
Evie: I… I wouldn’t know.
Spark: But you’re the author -_-
Evie: I plead the fifth. Moving on…
a. Does the character ever voice their annoyance? Sometimes. She’ll tell Van everything that is bothering her but she won’t tell Vitiator. She will tell people whom she trusts, and usually rudely because she feels a little TOO comfortable with them but not anybody she wants to impress. Krissy also has this problem; poor Kyle.
10. Would this character rather create something or destroy something? Definitely destroy >.> “Blowing up stuff is FUN!”
11. What kind of comedy does this character prefer? Toilet humor, vulgar, slapstick, morbid, etc. Mostly things at other people’s expense >.> Not slapstick so much as the prankster type.
12. If they could stay at one age forever, which age would they choose and why?
She has been at 18 for a good five years now, so… Krissy starts off being fifteen and the series concludes when she is 18 but again, she’s not allowed to grow up as of this time.
13. If the character could only wear clothing of one color, which would they choose?
She would wear red.
14. Describe the character’s favorite possession. Where did they get it, and why are they so attached? Is it wrong if I say Vahaadi? XD Other than that, it’s definitely her hair. Her hair is gorgeous and she knows it and it brings her happiness to have such a visible, physical manifestation of her emotions.
15. What is the character’s favorite weather? Sunny! It can be cold or warm as long as the sun’s out. She hates cloudy days and loathes rain because it makes flying more difficult and her hair doesn’t cooperate. On the flip side, she also adores Lightning, so it’s a give and take because of her hatred of rain.
16. Do they prefer sweet, salty, sour, meaty, spicy, or neutral tastes? She just loves everything, but she does enjoy salty and sour things the most.
17. Would they rather sleep in a cold room or a warm one? Her body regulates her temperature but I think she’d prefer a warm room because it feels cozier.
18. Are there any hobbies this character absolutely hates and would never want to do? Spark seconds Vahaadi’s dislike of Chess, although she thinks playing with make up is also really tedious and infuriating. She loves how dramatic people can look with it on but thinks the application process is for the birds. She wants that machine from “The Jetsons” that blows it on your face in two seconds.
19. What’s the easiest way to annoy this character? Telling her to be quiet.
20. Are their interests and likes socially appropriate? That depends? Krissy’s considered a nerd/geek and has a few antisocial qualities but she is accepted by general society. Spark struggles because demolition and fictitious dramatic retelling of events are rarely socially appropriate, but it’s not like she is incapable of navigating social situations successfully.
ALL ABOUT HISTORY
1. Describe a scenario that has impacted your character and caused them extreme happiness. One time there was this event that Ink held in which a lot of women got the chance to vie for Vahaadi’s attention and Vahaadi chose Spark over all of them even though she had tried to use Lanthriel against Vahaadi. She saw how awful and needy and ridiculous and embarrassing she was and yet Vahaddi left more attractive company to spend time with her. Spark was humbled and amazed and by the end of it utterly and completely thrilled and enthralled by Vahaadi. For Krissy, she felt extreme happiness when Vahaadi finally began to accept and reciprocate her affection. Also, of course, the moment Ink decided Vahaadi was coming to live in Loose Canon. She nearly dissolved with bliss.
a. Fear? Anytime Spark has become so hungry that she no longer has her healing powers and starts to feel pain she gets pretty terrified. She is much more liable to die in that situation than any other, which is of course a frightening thought. ((Her fight with Marrik comes to mind.))
b. Disappointment? When Spark arrived at Lunarious and realized being a superhero wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. It wasn’t witty bantering and synchronized punches– it was watching a lot of innocent people get hurt and feeling like you were barely winning the fight. For Krissy, her dad getting his new job and having so much less time to spend with her came as a pretty big disappointment.
c. Depression? I think TT Spark went through a bout of mild depression before we came up with the idea for Loose Canon. She wanted to be Vahaadi’s full time friend so much it was causing her heartache. Combined with losing Van’s company to Armera, it was a rough time for her. Loose Canon has been very healing for her in a lot of ways.
2. What is the character’s first memory?
Spark has a memory of wearing a little rubber tube around her in the bathtub as a toddler so that she wouldn’t electrocute herself in the bath. Krissy remembers sitting on her mother’s lap at her father’s little league coaching sessions when she was about two years old and having to wear a bonnet that scratched her chin to protect her face from the sun.
3. Has the character ever experienced deja vu? Do you happen to know why? Not that she can recall.
4. Sensations are powerful things, and often certain scents, sounds, touches, etc. can invoke memories strongly associated with them. Which have imprinted in your character’s mind? All the sounds of sports, sneakers scritching, a whistle blowing, a glove smacking a mitt all remind her of Krissy of her father. The smell of lavender reminds her of her mother because her mother is always using aromatherapy lotion. The sound of rings or bracelets clinking always reminds her of Vahaadi as does the smell of cinnamon. The smell of “Spring Fresh” laundry detergent always reminds her of Kyle whose mother makes him wash his own clothes and he never measures the soap properly.
5. How’d they get along with their parents and/or other relatives? Spark/Krissy adores her parents but does a much better job of having “quality time” with her dad than her mom. She is her grandmother’s favorite and only granddaughter and is spoiled by her, though Krissy has trouble fitting into the traditional type of girl her “Nana” wants her to be. Krissy’s favorite thing to do with her Nana is go to her house where she is fed cookies fresh out of the oven while they listen to big band jazz numbers. She gets along well if not loosely with her aunt and uncle and enjoys spending time with her cousin Flint in limited quantities. In her mind he is kind of boring but he’s fun to play sports with.
6. If your character had to choose one friend they’ve valued over all others, who would it be? Spark: How is this even a question? Vahaadi!!! Van used to be on the list, but I’ve axed him. ((I don’t think he minds. That friendship was so one sided anyway.))
7. What’s the worst injury they’ve ever gotten? That stab/gash she got when fighting Marrik.
8. How many places has this character lived in? What stands out most about those places to them?
Krissy has only lived in Austin and Dakota. Austin was a great place for her because it was a place that embraced bending rules and defying conventional norms. Dakota has been less understanding. TT Spark has lived in Metropolis and Lunarious. Metropolis was a bit like New York in the sense of feeling full of incredible and amazing opportunities that always seem just out of reach but you feel like you should stay in the city and stick it out. Lunarious is beautiful, even Spark agrees with that, but it’s too simplistic and rudimentary.
9. If the character could erase one memory from their mind, what would it be? Krissy wishes she could forget the time she heard her mom crying because she didn’t know Krissy was home. Her mom was praying for Krissy and just started weeping as she prayed because she just felt so tired and discouraged about parenting her daughter who has so many unruly qualities. Krissy felt guilty after that and never told her mom that she overheard, though she did try not to break her curfew again after that.
Spark says she has no memories so bad she doesn’t want them… I doubt that, but she’s sticking to that story for now.
10. What was the character’s economic situation? Upper Middle Class.
11. What are the character’s three clearest memories?
Krissy: 1. Seeing her new home in Dakota for the first time and being discouraged at how beautiful but empty and suburban it felt compared to her cozy, weird, treehouse home in Austin.
2. Meeting Kyle for the first time and laughing at his page protectors sticking out of his binder, only to take it back when she found out they held precious editions of comic books, not class notes.
3. Coming home to find Vahaadi jamming out to Beyonce. Imprinted on her brain for life.
Spark: 1. The look on Flint’s face when he found out she’d been a stowaway on the ship to Lunarious.
2. Finding out what Van looked like under his helmet and laying eyes on Vahaadi for the first time.
3. The moment she and Vitiator actually locked eyes and he stifled a smirk because he was the only one who caught her joke. In her heart Spark believes the two of them would/could be good friends but for Tephra. I don’t know that she’s wrong, but I don’t know that she’s right either.
12. If the character could go back and speak to a younger version of themself, what would they say? “Being a superhero isn’t what it’s cracked up to be, but do it anyway.”
13. If the character could go back and choose their sex at birth, what would they choose? As masculine as her interests seem sometimes, Krissy/Spark knows people are more lenient with her because she is a girl, so she’d stay the gender she is.
14. Describe the character’s love life throughout the years. It’s pretty much nonexistent.
15. How did the family that raised this character influence them? Her father had an influence in her like of sports, but mostly it was their laid back parenting style and the fact of being an only child that led Krissy/Spark to be the self centered, boundary pushing, endearing and zesty person that she is today.
16. If this character could “unmeet” someone in their life, who would they choose? Probably Tephra, though the feeling is mutual, I’m sure.
17. If the character could choose different parents for themselves, who would they choose and why? Well, by choosing to run away to Lunarious TT Spark incidentally chose Lady Novella and Lord Sunustra to be her foster parents, but she prefers her earth parents. Krissy adores her parents and would never replace them.
18. Does this character feel guilty about anything in the past? It’s interesting the parent question came before this, as they are really the only people about whom Spark/Krissy feels guilty. TT Spark feels awful that she causes Novella and Sunustra so much distress but doesn’t know how to make them love her less so that they won’t care as much. Krissy feels equally bad that she is not the type of daughter her mother longs for, but she doesn’t know how to get closer to her. They are just really different people. TT Spark also feels mildly bad for how she treated Van in the past, but at the same time knows his attitude sort of asked for it. They both make an effort now to be slightly more civil to each other.
19. If the character were asked to associate an adjective with different stages of their life, what would they choose and why?
Spark: Childhood: “A lot of fun.”
Hero School: “Good times.”
Lunarious in war: “Reality Check.”
Lunarious post war: “Um…probably really great and peaceful for everybody else. But that was when I started feeling lonely. …and sad.”
Pre Loose Canon: “When Can I See You Again?”
Now: “My Favorite.”
Krissy: Childhood: “Better than average”
Middle school: “Defining.”
Moving to Dakota/High School: “Challenging/isolating.”
Meeing Vahaadi/Being Spark: “UM AMAZING”
Repairing Canons: “A blast– with a little crunch feeling of urgency to put a damper on it.”
20. If the character could choose to have themselves born at a specific time period, which would they pick and why?
THE FUTURE!!!!!! …’CAUSE TECHNOLOGY. DUH.

“HOW DARE YOU” Hahahahaha! I love the drawing! And the “shrink” couch for your patients. XD
“Spark: Woah, woah, woah, I get DITCHED– PROMPTLY DITCHED!? Who ditched me!?!?!?!?!?
Evie: Uh, Kyle? Your Dad?
Spark: Well that’s bogus. Supposing this means I can’t use my powers, because then I could just FLY home, I guess I raid the fridge. Dunno. I CAN’T BELIEVE I GOT DITCHED, WHO WOULD DO THAT TO ME, I MEAN COME ON.
Evie: Relax. It’s a generic question. I don’t think anyone would really ditch you. 0_0” <----I love her moral outrage! She raids the fridge, bahahahaha! Perfect. No one would ditch her because nobody trusts her unsupervised. XD "It’s pretty good, Yo." <--snort! " It depends. She gets lonely a lot." <- This melts Vahaadi's heart! He wishes he was a better role model or could be more for her than just a crime-fighting sidekick, but circumstances being what they are, that's the best he can offer. 'Spark: “Awesome!” “Explosive!” “Adorable!” Evie: Pick ONE. Spark: “Dynamite.”' <- I simultaneously heard Vanellope "I'm aDORable!!!" and Taio Cruz XD XD XD "Gonna light it up, like it's dynamite!" I think because RainbowDash and Vanellope remind me so much of Spark I imagine her with a raspy voice. I have to remind myself that her voice is clear and high! I have a recording you did for her somewhere, I should listen to it again. :3 "She yells, insults, throws fireballs, the usual stuff." <-- "throws fireball" = "the usual stuff" XD I was surprised by how gruesome her threats to Marrik were! Good thing in THAT respect she's mostly talk... "You have to understand, Spark/Krissy NEVER views herself as the primary source of a problem and often considers herself the victim." <--This is an interesting contrast to Vahaadi, who believes everything is somehow his fault. I never thought of her seeing herself as the victim, more like she sees herself as the one that will solve the problem? Haha like Marie from the Aristocats, insisting "ladies don't start fights, but they can END them!" If Spark vows to never hurt anyone, how does she fight? Her powers aren't really Judo-style, like she captures he opponents' force and turns it against them just to disable them. What's a non-life-threatening way to blow someone up? @_@ 'Spark says she will “never find another friend like Vahaadi, so this is a moot question.” ' <--Vahaadi smiles tenderly at this, but in his head he hopes this isn't true. He wants her to know what romantic love feels like (someday, but not too soon) because it's his favorite sensation in the world and he thinks living without it would be unbelievably tragic. Since he doesn't think there's any potential for the two of them to be a couple (and he wouldn't want to be with her like that anyway) he hopes eventually she finds someone she loves, passionately, even more than she loves him. Especially since she is quite young and he is pushing his prime. That he'll die before she does is a certainty in his mind and he doesn't want her to feel like her life might as well be over too without him. Aaaaaaaaand I'm breaking here to make it manageable!
Yes haha we haven’t visited the couch for YEARS but I thought it appropriate to bring it back.
“No one would ditch her because no one trusts her unsupervised.” <--- I agree with this assessment. XD Vahaadi is a great friend to her! Honestly if he ever wanted to better himself, it shouldn't be for Spark's sake. She'll manage! You know, in an odd turn of events my computer put one of those recordings into a playlist and I heard it today but I hadn't listened to it since I recorded it! I was surprised to find how much it doesn't sound like my voice, but at the same time I tried imagining Spark's face with that voice and it's almost a little TOO snarky. We might need a rasp in there to make it less "mean girl" sounding. I'll try to play around with that when I have time. Yeah, she talks big but her bark is much worse that her bite. I think it's natural, given her inflated ego. She imagines herself doing things much worse than she actually would, the same way she imagines herself doing things much more grand than she actually does. RIGHT. Spark can throw herself one heck of a pity party if she wants to, but unlike Van or Andrayia she isn't mopey about it, so it's hard to recognize it for what it is. She is kinda like Discord in this respect. "MEEEE? How could this be MYYYYYYY doing, why I'm just over here minding my own business inducing chaos, how could this possibly be MY FAULT???? Why is everyone blaming meeeeeeeeeeeee?" She doesn't blow PEOPLE up, hahah! She would generally blow up their surroundings, then fly down and grab them just before they got crushed. She has to have perfect timing, but she's never failed, so... But... Vahaadi, I... I know. You're probably right. But if she grows up and gets married like all my other characters, who will be my cheeky little adorable fireball that usurps my muse and has silly drawn out (literally) conversations with me? Spark is my favorite and I don't want her to grow up yet. I feel so awful saying that. I'm always getting annoyed at parents of my students that hold their kids back because they feel like their baby is growing up too soon. But you're right. Spark doesn't live in Neverland. She isn't Peter Pan. How about this-- When I manage to find (and I will have to find him, there is no way I can just think one up, believe me, I've tried. One day he will just present himself and I will wonder 'Where did you come from?!') a character SO AMAZING he is actually going to dazzle Spark more than you, I won't stand in his way. I'm not imagining that'll happen any time soon (How long have you guys been friends? Five years and counting?). In her mind no one even comes close to holding a candle to you, but say they do, say they do SO MUCH that Spark is willing to grow up and fall in love, I'll even write it. Deal?
Would you ever be interested in hearing other people try recording lines for her, maybe if only to give you ideas? I’d love to find someone to voice Vahaadi–or really, any of my characters, haha. It’s so cool that there’s that guy that does VO videos for the Lackadaisy characters. That would make me so happy but I’d be so internally critical too. XD And you know way more than I do, and Spark is your baby, so maybe that wouldn’t be fun for you.
OK, so her MO is to make people think she’s going to blow them up, then grab them? XD What’s the plan after that? Drop them off in the nearest police car or courthouse? I guess that’s more or less what happens in comic books… Fortunately, she will mostly be fighting corruption monsters that she can aim directly for if she wants, without feeling like she’s killing a living being. I like fight scenes a lot but they’re harder to watch when I think about the bad guys being sentient beings. Though, I did like how in Avatar they take pains to show you “nobody dies in this story” XD Anytime a ship sinks or a plane goes down you see the people inside survive…well, except for Tarlok and Amon. But that’s precisely why that scene was so @_______________________@!!!!! homgthatjusthappened!!!???! I rarely feel bad felling bad dudes in things like Zelda, Mario or Skylanders because they’re usually just silly little monster things, but I watched my brothers play Skyrim this summer and that made me a little sick. The people you fight talk and yell and scream like people and when they die they don’t magically and tidiliy disappear, their corpses lay their all horribly mangled and it’s so alarming D: I have a pretty low tolerance for that kind of stuff…so I’m glad Spark doesn’t mean to kill people, although it does raise a question of whether she’d be ABLE to kill someone if she really needed to. Buuuuut…for what it’s worth, Vahaadi would be willing to do it for her. >_o Because of my own aversion to gore I have a hard time getting into that part of him (and he didn’t have a truly murderous side in Ashen Shard) but…there’s that. I did have an idea in my head (but I think it’s too dark) that Vahaadi does kill someone, or almost does, and Spark is really horrified and has a breakdown, and maybe even uses the second wish to wish them back to life. Again, I think it’s way too dark to actually happen, but could make for an interesting topic to explore, even if only in theoretical terms.
I really would! As long as they understand her character I’d totally be fine with someone voicing her! Yeah, that guy that does the Lackadaisy stuff is so great, and Tracy is equally generous in her appreciation.
TARLOK AND AMON.
I’m still scarred. Honestly. You know when something really bad happens and you see it all in slow motion? I had that sensation when I watched the ending and that happened. Now, I realize I got WAY too into that show, but still.
Yes, Spark is totally physically capable of killing someone, and if she had to do it, she would. But it would have to be very serious; only if other lives were at stake or something and there way no other way.
Woah, intense use of second wish! I don’t think we’d want to do that simply because I don’t want Vahaadi to get labeled as anything too vicious. That would take the series a little darker (more anime level dark) than I think we want to go, and I think it might verge on making Spark seem a little more angelic than she really is. It does make me think though, what if we had Spark use her second wish to undo a mistake she made but instead of her mistake being that she just gets too caught up in her own powers to realize what she is doing, her mistake is falsely accusing an innocent person? Somehow she assumes something is a person’s fault and she goes about trying to take them down or whatever. ((This is all really vague in my head.)) That person tries to explain that they never meant any harm but she keeps dismissing it, saying “Yeah right, you’re a ‘Bad Guy,’ that’s what they all say.” She labels this person a bad guy and assumes she, being the ‘good guy’ can do no wrong. When, in fact, she had erred and the person is innocent. I don’t know how serious we want this to be, but suppose they got put on death row and were executed, or were sentenced to life in prison or something then Spark could use her second wish to unto their sentence once she figures out she was wrong. I don’t know, it’s just a thought. It brings in that weight of “I’m not a good superhero, how could I have gotten so caught up in making a name for myself that I missed evidence that showed this person’s innocence? How could I have been so self righteous?” Without making her quite so reckless and sinister as to just wreak havoc without stopping herself.
It’s important for people to know that Vahaadi was a bad dude, but we can have that be evidenced in what people say about him rather than showing it because I don’t even want to know. DX
Oh, there’s a thought! Hmmm…Now I’m just trying to think of a scenario to go with that idea.
Exactly.
Well, but now I really like the idea of Spark using her wish in some epic Lorewalker endeavor so maybe we can just use this as an episode idea without having her use her wish? Instead she can right her wrong some other way; it’s less about plot progression than character development.
Don’t feel pressed or hurried to find Spark’s one true love on Vahaadi account! I don’t know that i actually want to see that happen either, Vahaadi’s just doesn’t want her to be hung up on him. The nice things about them being characters is that they don’t *have* to grow up. I mean, if we wanted people in our lives that would grow up we could just have real kids ahahahahaha XD
That’s sweet of him to feel that way. I just felt bad when I read it because he sees Spark’s life as being tragic unless she falls in love and I couldn’t live with myself for giving her a ‘tragic’ fate just for my own satisfaction. I’m not pressured, but what he said gave me pause. Does it really make ‘story sense’ for Spark to be single forever, or am I just doing it for self serving reasons?
Then again, like you said, these characters all sort of exist for self serving reasons, so we’ll see XP
Vahaadi is also wrong about romantic love being the most important thing ever, so don’t let his tunnel vision ideas of tragedy and fulfillment dictate what is good for Spark. XD
“Vahaadi is also wrong,” <-- I think the Spark part of my brain is taking over because I forgot for a moment that this is often true. XD At this point it really wouldn't be good for her. (Or the guy! I know he ships her and Kyle but honestly Kyle deserves better!)
I wish I had that kind of selection in MY kitchen! *Q*
If all she could eat for the rest of her life was hot pockets she probably wouldn’t live very long! XD
Awwwww I would have never guessed she’s self-conscious about being scrawny. That surprises me a lot, actually, since she seems to confident about being cute. o.O Does she want to be curvier/more womanly?
“Spark: ‘Are there any,’ are there ANY, UM YES.
Moving on…” <--Everything about this is amazing, but mostly how she feels about VAN'S FACE. And his list. *dies* "Describe the character’s favorite possession. Where did they get it, and why are they so attached? Is it wrong if I say Vahaadi? XD" <-- this CRACKED me up! Vahaadi made the funniest grin. GAHHHH I forgot about that bizarre roleplay scenario with the women. That was so weird and not at all what I expected to happen. I just wanted new people to draw Vahaadi with! o_< Well, I'm glad that was such a defining moment for Spark, that was just kind of embarrassing for him. BUT NOT AS EMBARRASSING AS BEING CAUGHT DANCING TO BEYONCE ahahahaha he is so humiliated. He is mad at me for drawing that, it makes him turn red every time he thinks about it. I'm embarrassed for him, actually. XD I had to take it down from dA (and by extension, the blog, since it was linked through dA) because we're both like "uuuggggghhh *shameful facepalm*" I liked reading the story about Krissy feeling guilty after hearing her mom praying. That's really touching. "Probably Tephra, though the feeling is mutual, I’m sure." <--This shouldn't amuse me so much but it does. For some reason I CAN'T get over this weird association my brain has latched onto between Tephra and Cleo de Nile. Even though I think Tephra would be offended to be compared to such a petty diva, I can't think of either of them without thinking of the other. Maybe because they both have really cool boyfriends that are way nicer than they are. I'm sorry, I'M SORRY, I know this was supposed to be all about Spark, but my favorite part of this was learning more about Kyle. I'm just dying over the soap thing because I live for details like that (and that's a really nice smell for a teenage boy haha). Also, baby Krissy in a bonnet. Too much cuteness. *explodes*
Yeah, she has everything a Texan girl could want, Mexican food aside. Fortunately her dad continues to barbecue even after they move to Dakota.
Hahahahahah she might get scurvy, like that guy who only ate Ramen for a year. Although I heard about a guy who only eats cheese pizza for every meal for five years and he’s doing okay?
To tell you the truth and I’m not supposed to even be telling you, Spark wants to be “Magical Girl” cute. Like she’s got a really cute face, with big eyes and a tiny mouth and lavish hair, but she’s got more chest and lady curves. The way I see it, that would draw her the kind of attention she doesn’t know how to process anyway, but in Spark’s mind more attention can only be a good thing. Honestly though her personality isn’t deserving of something so cute and girly, so I won’t allow it. But I think that is part of why she doesn’t get along with Opal, she’s slightly jealous of how lovely Opal is. Not just physically, but her whole ensemble, everything. Now I just feel like Rarity, using the word “ensemble” so I’m going to stop.
I’m glad?
hahahah I’m glad you both took it in stride.
Yeah, that whole thing rocked her. I think it sort of added to that feeling she always had like “Vahaadi is out of my league. Why is he even friends with me? I’m so dumb and kiddish.” But at the same time it really helped her to know when the chips are down, no matter how lame she is, he cares about her. For all that Spark knows about his vices, I don’t think she’ll ever stop seeing him with that tinge of awe.
Oh wow, I didn’t know you took it down XD Well, for his sake we won’t relive it.
Yeah. I really feel sad for Krissy and her mom. Their relationship is nothing like the relationship I have with my mom so it’s sad/hard for me to write.
HAHAH I APPROVE OF THIS HEADCANON. Now that you say it, I can certainly see the connection. I don’t think Tephra would be offended because Cleo is powerful. She IS the most popular ghoul in school after all. I will draw this sometime.
aww, yay! I’m glad you liked learning about Kyle X3 although he’s the brain child of both of us, so whatever details you want to add, of course, do so. I just try to add how Krissy sees him from her perspective. And yes, he does smell nice.
HAHAHAHAH That was before her personality was fully known and her mom was still trying to keep her a normal baby.
She’s got more chest and lady curves, or she *WANTS* more chest and lady curves? I’m confused.
Uggggghhhhhh it’s because Vahaadi know what it feels like to be passed up for beautiful women and it kills him. x_X He’s still mad at Tryvnah for wanting to be a dad and is super insecure in this idea that if he’d been a woman maybe Tryvnah wouldn’t have left him, but then he’d have been a woman and probably a mom and that’s just all kinds of WEIRD and at that point his brain just short circuits. But, in that scenario, it was just kind of a no-brainer, though it was hard in the moment because he liked the attention. He just realized, look, I’m going to end up disappointing you all eventually because I’m not going to go straight in this very instance after spending most of my life lusting after men, and Spark’s bizarre affection (which I so wholly do not deserve) is much more precious to me than whatever it is we’re doing here, so…sorry.
Yes, ugh, haha. I mean, the idea still amuses me, but it’s an embarrassed amusement. Plus, the art was just straight up terrible (to me) so I couldn’t stand it anymore. XP
Vit and Teph’s kids might look like Cleo, if they ever had any. Vit’s dark coloring + Tephra’s gold coloring…and their associations with metal and sand. It could happen. XD
She’d like to be that cute. As it is, she’s cute, but not Magical Girl cute with lady curves and a tiny, happy mouth and BIG EYES and a barely there nose. She’s flat chested and got a big mouth, but she wouldn’t be her if she didn’t, much to my satisfaction and her (internal) chagrin.
“So… sorry” <-- XD I'm glad he was able to see it objectively. I think this basically comes down to the fact Vahaadi has next to no appreciation of family. He understands why families exist but he doesn't see why anyone would intentionally start one or enjoy it. I think if he understood that concept more he might be more willing to forgive Tryvnah to some degree. I remember thinking the art was good? At least the poses looked very realistic? But okay. We won't speak of it again. Haha I feel like Rarity "Let us never speak of this again!" YOU KNOW I have never pictured what their kids might look like. I just never wanted to subject any child to Tephra's rearing. But! actually that is part of what will happen after I get the courage to write out Tephra's reconciliation with the Great Prince. The King actually lays it on her heart and Vititator's to adopt a child (if not more) that is a little older and who also comes from a troubled background. I don't know much more than that, but I'll put it together at some point. Anyway, I don't think they'll ever have their own kids, but it's interesting to think about!
Whaaaaaat! Really? Wow. That surprises me so much! She always seems so disdainful of girly things. And she’s so cute in an American-animation way…I guess it just goes to show that everyone thinks the grass is greener on the other side. All this time I’ve been trying to draw her more like your style and now I know she just wants to look like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-pYfBKymTruc/TsxK0cwZDBI/AAAAAAAAAGg/mukmQWbuJLw/s1600/krissyshojo.png XD
YES, yes and yes. That’s why I still hold a candle for the Vahaadi x Leimira story, because even though I don’t really super love the dynamic between them, I love that he gets to be a dad and a breadwinner and, yes, forgive Tryvnah for everything because women CAN be desirable and kids are adorable and he just wants to play with his all the time. In this headcanon family he has three daughters and one son and they all love Balthazar and she tolerates so much manhandling. XD
The poses were OK (in their stupid, this obviously supposed to be choreography for a woman, way) but his face was inconsistent and he didn’t look like himself at all n_n;
WHAT how can you not think of it, that’s like the first thing I ponder after the initial “what would this pairing be like?” question, hahahaha. (you better believe I’m already wondering what Took and Lonja’s children will look like haha. I’m terrible.) Not to mention, they’re both so lovely. That’s really cool that they’re going to adopt! I read a story about a photographer that decided to do photoshoots with older orphans because it’s so difficult for them to find homes, and it really touched my heart to read these kids’ worries and resignations and it made me think “I WILL ADOPT YOU AND LOVE YOU CHILD D:” but I needed to calm down and remind myself that most places won’t let single parents adopt, and who am I kidding anyway? XD I live in my cousin’s basement. Any adoption won’t come any sooner than the possibility of me actually birthing kids (read: a long way off).
Yep! But you have to pretend you don’t know, since I promised her I’d never tell anyone.
AWW, YES. I still love that too. It’s fine, we can just have tons of headcanons, or what was it you called your version of Vintah’s meeting with Took? fanonheadcanon? XD Tumblr has gotten to me, clearly.
<3
REALLY?! You're already picturing their kids XD!? I guess I'm a little slow to warm up to the idea of Took as a dad, just like i was hesitant to see Tephra as a mom, thus I never picture their kids.
OH! But this reminds me I never replied to your text about wanting to make a "little" character to nanny their children. I said little because I figured she'd be young, probably in her late teens? And short and cute like Phineas? Unless you were picturing more of a Mary Poppins nanny or someone more grandmotherly.
YESYESYES. <3 They'll adopt a boy not unlike the state Vahaadi was in when he left home, actually, only I don't think this boy committed incest (my fingers typed insect DX ) I think he's more the angry/could-be-dangerous type that is about to get locked up if they don't find somewhere to put him. Tephra and Vitiator teach him to channel his anger into strength as well as giving him people he is willing to trust because they aren't scared of him.
Such a child was terrifying to the simple and peaceful parents who were raising him because he is smarter than they are and was constantly able to outwit their efforts to discipline him. (He'd be considered a delinquent anywhere but especially in a place like Lunarious.) Tephra and Vit won't put up with that but also won't shame him for his ambition and intelligence as long as it is used properly. I imagine over time he is able to overcome his emotional problems (I think he suffers from some condition, either bipolar or depression or something.) and grow very attached to both of them, looking up to them and allowing himself to be vulnerable. They also eventually allow themselves to love him as a son, not just a troublemaker put into their care.
We can just chalk future shoujo drawings I do of her to my anime roots and she’ll be none the wiser. Wink!
Yeah, I was picturing a Nanny Poppins ish character, a professional child-tender rather than a babysitter. I mean, unless Lonja decided she wanted to do all the nurturing, but I think he’d try to talk her out of it. He views rearing children as a necessary evil rather than a life ambition. XD Thus, he would not make for a very tender father, and really, I think his children would be better off without him readily present and directly involved in their life. He’s harsh and impatient. I kinda wish Lonja would have the chance to be with a guy that’s nicer than he is, but she might be one of the only women to have the resilience to put up with him (maybe because she doesn’t know any better D: )
That’s super cool! I’d love to see dad!Vit 😀
Sounds good!
Lonja more than tolerates Took’s downsides for all the good things that are unique about him. She’d rather be with someone brilliant, ambitious and unintentionally endearing than someone who is nice. That’s not to say she doesn’t hope of a little of hers and Lanthriel’s niceness rubs off on Took, but even if it never does she knows she’ll never meet another man who is actively going to improve her education, biological talent for magic and (unintentionally) her self esteem.
I think after meeting Van and Lanthriel she knows that they are other men who are nobler and kinder (to a degree; Van can come across as pretty gruff but he was never that way to her.) Nevertheless she doesn’t find them to be nearly as interesting or comforting as Took, despite his outbursts. Like we’ve mentioned before, their relationship even after marriage would hardly be mushy. A closet romantic like Van and an emotionally attentive man like Lanthriel would make Lonja feel intimidated.
Me too ^__^ I think he’d make a good father to younger children also but it won’t happen. I had planned to explain this in the scene I want to write out between Tephra and the Great Prince but since I might not get around to ever writing it out I’ll just tell you here. One of the things that came out during her time with him was that He knows she once purposefully induced a miscarriage because she didn’t want anything to distract Vitiator’s attention from her and pursuing their goals, not even their own child. Vitiator doesn’t know. It’s the only secret she’s ever kept form him. Her womb is permanently damaged from the alchemy she performed so they’ll never be able to have their own children. I don’t know what it will look like when she tells Vitiator, at the time it was just enough for me to even learn that she had done that and for her to understand that the Great Prince still loves her even though He knows everything. Her encounter with him reminds me of the woman at the well who said “He told me everything I’ve ever done,” and she believed.
